Well, it certainly holds water!

We are all aware of the exorbitant prices of some skincare products on the market, right? And sometimes, you want nothing more than an affordable alternative.

In effect, most times, efficiency is all we are really looking for.

Do you remember when 2 in 1 hair shampoos came out of the woodwork a few decades ago?

What about 5 in 1 – have you ever heard of that before?

Please pay attention because here it is!

I know I talk about Sonia Roselli a lot, but I’m honestly so taken with her line of skin prep, I can’t help but share the wealth!

So, the product in question this time is Sonia Roselli Water Balm, or as she describes it herself, the holy grail of her range!

The Water Balm is a gel/cream in texture. But that’s only two things.

“What happened to 5 in 1?” I hear you ask?

Well, Sonia Roselli Water Balm does indeed serve as a moisturizer, a toner/serum, day cream, night cream, eye cream, and a primer.

I probably won’t stop talking about Sonia Roselli products until the cows come home, but they are just so efficient and well thought out.

What Does it Do?

  • plumps fine lines on the skin
  • reduces the appearance of pores
  • works to smooth your skin
  • can be used as a primer
  • also works as an eye cream

You know those days where you are just incredibly dry around the eyes and eyelids? Well, Sonia’s Water Balm is the fix it for you once again. And a little goes a long, long way. Just tap it under your eye, and over the top of your upper eyelid, and then gently massage it in.

It’s going to allow your concealer to sit so beautifully on your skin. Or on your client’s if you’re doing makeup on someone with the dry-eye!

What Makes It Worth Buying?

Water Balm is a one of a kind.

It takes using it to understand. And I have to admit that the first time I used it, I felt really uncomfortable.

I can only compare the experience to George Costanza in Seinfeld when he showered after working out, only to head straight to the office for the day, sweating bullets, saying the shower “didn’t take”.

That’s exactly how I felt. This weird sweaty sensation on my face. But in all honesty, I didn’t know what I was doing with the product. And had no clue how to use it correctly.

And it did take some getting used to!

Think of it containing all these little tiny liquid-filled bubbles. And when you apply some balm onto the skin and begin tapping or rubbing, you bust open all of the little bubbles and release all of the Japanese Spring Water and serum, and all these magical goodies that are about to go to work on your complexion.

Right before your very eyes!

This is such a light feeling balm. When its on, it truly feels like you’re floating. It’s difficult to describe, but it really is light. How can such a light cream have so much packed into it?

You only need a teeny, tiny amount to do your entire face. Don’t tell anyone, but I like to do my hands at the same time, it just feels so good!

With using so little each time, you really see the true value of a product. It will go a long

Like all of Sonia’s skin prep line, it has been designed out of user experience and knowledge. And with that said, it’s a speedy process, and if you have followed her directions on how to apply correctly, it should be pretty quick.

As I mentioned, it certainly takes some getting used to when first using.

I have never used a product like this prior, but have become accustomed to how it behaves now.

Aside from that, I really don’t have any issues with it whatsoever.

Sonia’s Holy Grail!

If I have acne is this okay to use?

Yes – in fact, all you have to do is head over to her website and read the many product reviews.

Time and time again, there are reports from acne sufferers using this product and how it has not only hydrated their skin but healed their acne as well!

As is the case with all of Sonia’s Skin Prep products, she encourages mixing with your makeup, experimenting to come up with new techniques and ways of not only sheering out your makeup (for example, making your foundation a little more sheer if you’re going for a more natural look on a certain day) but adding skincare to your makeup routine as well.

And that is a notion I for one, am a massive advocate for.

Skin Care and Makeup Tips Using Water Balm

Apply water balm like a mask. Let it sit on your skin for 20 minutes. Relax. Then you can massage what’s remaining sitting on your skin until it absorbs and blends right in. Perfect for these dry, winter months!

.

Another great mixing trick involves mixing Water Balm with a powder blush. Then you can tap it onto your lips with your fingers. It will give you a really soft, pretty flush in your favorite blush color.

Sonia pointed this one out herself, on her Glossible Network.

Water Balm is all of these things:

  • Cruelty-Free
  • Gluten-Free
  • Paraben-Free
  • Citrus-Free
  • Chemical Color Additive Free
  • Chemical Fragrance-Free

It is worth noting that Sonia has complete transparency in stating that her Water Balm is not Vegan. It contains both Hydrogenated Lecithin and Lysolecithin, which are egg yolk-derived and silk.

So if you are looking for hydration, and perhaps want to try something new. Something that works, I definitely recommend Sonia Roselli Water Balm. I keep it in my makeup kit all the time. And at home.

And I will be buying it again! Do you love it too? Let me know, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
